The month of July will be full with activities. Here is a brief listing:
Cross Country Camp begins Monday, July 10 for three weeks and takes place at McFarland Park. More information is available in the announcement below. One change to note… We will not have our group run at the end of camp. However, and even better, all campers wearing their camp t-shirt will have free entry to the DaDooRunRun 5K that takes place Saturday, July 29. I’m really excited about this opportunity to connect the camp with the community in this well-established race. Details about the race can be found on our calendar.
The annual TRAC Handy Week Dinner at Ricatoni’s will take place on Tuesday, July 25 starting at 6:30. It is buffet style and all are welcome. Cost is $13/person plus tip. We will have some brief comments about all that is going on at TRAC and will answer any questions you may have. Come join us for a nice meal and good fellowship. We will share some details about the upcoming training program for the UCP Half-Marathon.
As noted above, the DaDooRunRun 5K is set for July 29. It is a great race and is very well attended. If you haven’t signed up yet, this is a good time to take care of it.

One of the things TRAC does for which I am most proud is sponsoring the annual Cross Country Camp. Each year, upcoming middle and high school student-athletes interested in running are invited to join us for three weeks in July. We try to hold the cost down so that it is affordable for all to participate and we rely on volunteers to work with the campers. I’m especially excited that Braxton Linder, who excelled as a cross country runner at UNA, will be heading this up this year. Braxton has a lot of great experience, and, along with other area elites, will be able to impart lots of good tips to the participants. There is already a lot buzz in our running community about the camp so please take this opportunity to get registered. The camp runs from 7:00 am to 9:00 am Monday – Friday, July 10 – 28. This year, we’ve added a run on Saturday, July 29 with a picnic to follow. All will take place at McFarland Park. Below is a link to the registration form with the details.
